WinAmp is brilliant. It plays most forms of audio files, and you can fiddle around with the sound as much as you want. There's also a class playlist. Don't browse the Internet without something playing in your headphones that's what I say.

CuteFTP & CuteHTML
Excellent little things these. FTP is for getting your site onto the net, and HTML is to write them. I'm using HTML less now that I have DreamWeaver, but CuteHTML is still good for cleaning up the code which DreamWeaver messes with. CuteFTP is a must-have if you have a site.
